Health insurance in Switzerland
In Switzerland, health insurance is urgently necessary for all people residing in Switzerland. It can be divided into basic health insurance and voluntary additional insurance. After arriving in Switzerland, you have up to three months to take out basic insurance.
The benefits are determined by the Health Insurance Act, that's why the same benefits are covered by all health insurance companies.
With voluntary supplementary insurance, you can insure services that meet your individual needs, but are not or only partially paid for by the compulsory basic insurance.
